I’m probably not very different from most of you who will visit my blog. I’m a SAHM (stay-at-home-mom) of four great kids, and I’ve been married to my college sweetheart for 21 years (even though I swear I don’t feel that old — LOL!). My husband has a pretty good job, and we are solidly middle-class, but with four kids, the oldest of whom will be starting college in just a couple of years, money is always tight.
I haven’t always had the luxury of staying home with my kids. I’m an experienced IT professional (that’s a fancy term for computer geek), and I’ve worked for two Fortune 100 companies, as well as spent 10 years running my own computer consulting business. However, contrary to popular belief, it seems that as your kids get older, they need you more, not less. There’s always someone who needs a ride to music lessons, basketball practice, or a part-time job, not to mention the rest of them who seem to expect to have hot food ready for them at dinner time, and a supply of cold food in the refrigerator the rest of the time.
So, that’s why I’m so glad to be able to make some money doing online surveys. No, I won’t get rich doing it, but it helps to replace my income while still giving me the time I need to spend with my family.
